Example: Backsplash: 20 ft × 1.5 ft = 30 sq ft Tile: 3" × 6" subway tiles Window: 3 ft × 2 ft = 6 sq ft Waste: 10% Net Area = 30 - 6 = 24 sq ft With Waste = 24 × 1.10 = 26.4 sq ft Tile Area = (3 × 6) / 144 = 0.125 sq ft Tiles Needed = 26.4 / 0.125 = 212 tiles Thinset = 1 bag, Grout = 1 bag Boxes = 3 (at 10 sq ft per box)
