Calculate the amount of interior trim materials needed for baseboards, crown molding, door casing, and window trim. Enter your room dimensions and opening details to get accurate material estimates with waste allowance.
Perimeter = 2 × (Length + Width)
Baseboard = Perimeter - (Door Width × Number of Doors)
Crown Molding = Perimeter (full)
Door Casing = (2 × Height + Width) × Number of Doors
Window Casing = (2 × 3 ft + 2 × Width) × Number of Windows
Total = (Baseboard + Crown + Door + Window) × (1 + Waste%/100)
Example:
Room: 15 ft × 12 ft, 8 ft ceiling
Doors: 2 @ 3 ft wide
Windows: 2 @ 4 ft wide
Waste: 10%
Perimeter = 54 ft
Baseboard = 54 - 6 = 48 ft
Crown = 54 ft
Door Casing = (16 + 3) × 2 = 38 ft
Window Casing = (6 + 8) × 2 = 28 ft
Raw Total = 168 ft
With Waste = 168 × 1.10 = 184.8 linear feet
