What is Zakat al-Fitr (Fitrah)?

Zakat al-Fitr is a charitable donation of food or its monetary equivalent given before Eid al-Fitr prayers. It purifies the fasting person from idle talk and provides food for the needy during Eid celebrations.

Who must pay Zakat Fitrah?

Every Muslim who possesses enough food for themselves and their family for the day and night of Eid must pay Zakat al-Fitr on behalf of themselves and their dependents, including children.

When should Zakat Fitrah be paid?

What if I miss the Eid prayer deadline?

Can Zakat Fitrah be given to family?
