Mean, Median, and Mode

Enter your data points separated by commas to get a complete statistical summary of your set.

Mean = Sum / Count Median = Middle Value Mode = Most Frequent Value
For data set: 5, 10, 15, 10, 20 • Mean: (5+10+15+10+20)/5 = 12 • Median: 10 • Mode: 10

What is the mean?

The mean (average) is the sum of all numbers in a data set divided by the total number of values.

What is the median?

The median is the middle value in a data set when the numbers are arranged in order. If there is an even number of values, it is the average of the two middle numbers.

What is the mode?

The mode is the number that appears most frequently in a data set. A set can have one mode, multiple modes (bimodal, trimodal), or no mode if all numbers appear only once.

How do I handle a data set with no mode?

If every number in your set appears exactly the same number of times, the set is considered to have no mode.
