Railing Area = Length × Height × 2.5
Stair Area = entered value
Total Area = Deck + Railing + Stair
Adjusted Coverage = Base Coverage / Absorption Factor
Gallons = (Total Area / Adjusted Coverage) × Number of Coats
Example:
Deck: 20 ft × 15 ft = 300 sq ft
Railings: 50 ft × 3 ft × 2.5 = 375 sq ft
Stairs: 30 sq ft
Stain: Semi-Transparent (300 sq ft/gal)
Coats: 2
Wood: Weathered (1.2× absorption)
Total Area = 300 + 375 + 30 = 705 sq ft
Adjusted Coverage = 300 / 1.2 = 250 sq ft/gal
Gallons = (705 / 250) × 2 = 5.64 gallons
Containers = 6 gallons
