Air Quality Calculator

Calculate your room's air quality requirements and determine the right air purifier CADR rating based on room size and current AQI levels.

Room Volume = Length x Width x Height Air Changes Per Hour = (CADR x 60) / Room Volume Recommended CADR = (Room Volume x 5) / 60 AQI Levels: - 0-50: Good - 51-100: Moderate - 101-150: Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups - 151-200: Unhealthy - 201-300: Very Unhealthy - 301+: Hazardous
Example: 15ft x 12ft x 8ft room, AQI 150, CADR 300 Volume = 15 x 12 x 8 = 1,440 cu ft Air Changes = (300 x 60) / 1,440 = 12.5 per hour Recommended CADR = (1,440 x 5) / 60 = 120 CFM Quality Level = Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups

What is a good air quality index (AQI)?

An AQI of 0-50 is considered good with little to no health risk. 51-100 is moderate and acceptable for most people. Values above 100 start to affect sensitive groups, and anything above 150 is unhealthy for everyone. Aim to keep indoor AQI below 50.

What is CADR in air purifiers?

CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) measures how quickly an air purifier can clean air, expressed in cubic feet per minute (CFM). Higher CADR means faster air cleaning. For best results, choose a purifier with CADR rating at least 2/3 of your room's square footage.

How many air changes per hour do I need?

For general use, 4-5 air changes per hour is recommended. For allergy sufferers or high pollution areas, aim for 6-8 changes per hour. Medical-grade air purification may require 10-15 changes per hour.
