How do I choose the right size crate for my dog?
Your dog should be able to stand up, turn around, and lie down comfortably. Measure your dog from the nose to the base of the tail for length, and from the floor to the top of the head for height. Add 2-4 inches to these measurements to find the ideal crate size.
Is a bigger crate always better?
Not necessarily. While a large crate is spacious, if it is too big, a puppy might use one end as a bed and the other as a bathroom. If you have a growing puppy, buy a crate for their expected adult size but use a divider panel to limit the space initially.
How do I measure my dog for a crate?
Length: Measure from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail. Height: Measure from the floor to the top of the head or ears (whichever is higher) while they are standing.
What are standard crate sizes for different breeds?
Common sizes include 24" (Small - up to 25 lbs), 30" (Medium - up to 40 lbs), 36" (Large - up to 70 lbs), and 42-48" (Extra Large - over 70 lbs).
