What eDPI do professional gamers use?

Pro eDPI varies by game: Valorant pros average 200-400 eDPI (low sens), CS:GO pros 800-1200 eDPI (medium), Overwatch pros 4000-6000 eDPI (high due to vertical aiming), Apex pros 800-1600 eDPI. Should I use 400 DPI or 1600 DPI?

Higher DPI (1600+) reduces pixel skipping because the mouse sends more position updates per inch. With 400 DPI at low in-game sensitivity, your crosshair can skip pixels. Many pros still use 400-800 DPI out of habit, but 1600 DPI with proportionally lower in-game sensitivity is technically superior and feels identical when properly converted.

How do I convert sensitivity between different games?

To convert sensitivity between games, use the cm/360° measurement (distance to do a full 360° turn). First, calculate your current cm/360° for one game, then find the sensitivity in another game that matches that same cm/360°. What is pixel skipping and how does DPI affect it?

Pixel skipping occurs when your crosshair jumps over pixels without registering between positions. Lower DPI + low in-game sensitivity = more pixel skipping. At 400 DPI with very low sens, you might skip 2-3 pixels per step. At 1600 DPI with adjusted sens, each step moves 1 pixel, giving smoother aim. This is especially important for precision aiming in tactical shooters.
