Example: 6 ft round table, standard drop (14 in): Diameter = 72 in + 28 in = 100 in; Round up to 108 in tablecloth; Capacity = ~10 guests seated; Area = 54.5 sq ft

What size tablecloth do I need for a 6-foot round table?

For a 6-foot round table (72 inches diameter): With short drop (6-8 inches) use 90-inch round; With standard drop (10-15 inches) use 108-inch round; With floor-length drop use 120-inch round. Measure your table diameter, add twice the desired drop length, and round up to the nearest available size.

How far should a tablecloth drop?

Short drop (6-8 inches): Formal events, restaurant settings - keeps the legs visible. Standard drop (10-15 inches): Most common for parties and events - covers table legs. Floor-length (28-30 inches): Dramatic look for weddings, galas - hides everything. Customize based on your event style and whether you want the table legs visible.

Can I use a larger tablecloth than recommended?

Yes, it's better to have a tablecloth that's slightly too large than too small. You can always tuck excess fabric or let it pool on the floor for an elegant look. However, very oversized tablecloths can create a tripping hazard. A general rule: round up to the nearest standard size rather than down.

How many guests can sit at each size table?

Round tables: 48-inch = 4-6 guests, 60-inch = 8 guests, 72-inch = 10 guests. Rectangle tables: 6-foot = 6-8 guests, 8-foot = 8-10 guests, 10-foot = 10-12 guests. Allow 24 inches per guest for comfortable seating, or 18 inches for tight seating.

What fabric is best for party tablecloths?

Polyester blends: Wrinkle-resistant, machine-washable, affordable. Spandex/Stretch: Snug fit, modern look, stays in place. Cotton: Natural feel, but wrinkles easily. Satin: Elegant but expensive. Consider rental vs purchase - polyester rental tablecloths are cost-effective for one-time events.
